I-phone is an internet based mobile which is a product of Apple Inc. The apple iphone was announced in January 2007. It is a touch screen phone with multi-touch function with virtual keyboard. It also consists of hardware buttons. It combines all those features that a mobile phone and portable multimedia player has along with the visual voice mail. Internet browsing can also be done easily through Wi-Fi connectivity along with E-mail. It is a quadband phone which also supports the EDGE data technology. It consists of a 3.5” colour LCD the HVGA screen covered with a scratch proof glass with an ambient light sensor that adjusts the brightness of the screen automatically. It also consists of an accelerometer which rotates the display accordingly. There is no need of stylus to operate the iphones because the display is capacitive touch screen nor the stylus can be used. It can only be operated by the touch of bare skin.

The iphone consists of a 2.0 megapixel camera exclusive of flash and auto focus situated at the back side of the phone. It does not support video recording. The ipone has very good audio features similar to that of an ipod. The headphones of the iphone are alike those of ipod’s. The headphone consists of a microphone along with the multipurpose multimedia button in order to operate the basic functions of the music player. The headphones are inserted into a 3.5mm TRS connector located on the top left corner but it does not support the wireless stereo connectivity (A2DP). There is a loud speaker that can be used both for handsfree as well as media playback. Mostly the iphones are sold with a simlock in order to prevent it from the usage of sim cards from different mobile networks or operators. The sim card window is given at the top of the ipone and it is activated through iTunes.
